I have had HH5 since it launched and generally have had a good experience with one exception. I play a lot of online multiplayer games (particularly Destiny and COD) and pretty frequently the HH5 will "crash" or more accurately disconnect from the internet. The wi-fi connection to the admin page works but the orange light is on and it has to be power cycled. I would say this happens on maybe a weekly basis and suspect it may be due to the internal connection tables not being torn down when disconnections occur post game.
Ive had the line/router checked several times and done hard-resets but the problem persists and seems to be getting worse. I've had to reboot 2 in the last 3 days.
Any have similar experiences or shed any light?
The home hub 5 is a terrible router. Mine used to do it all the time.
With the random resets and the NAT issues it's just not suitable for gamers.
You should ditch it and get a decent third party router.
Don't even think of getting a home hub 6 or whatever they call it. I wouldn't trust that either
