Re: HH5 keeps dropping and reconnecting wifi

The first things to try are to make sure you turn off "smart setup" on the Homehub.

See link how to do that.

Some devices have a problem with the Homehub dual band having the same SSid (name). Try giving the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies different SSids. Just add a 5 to the end of the 5Ghz SSid so you know which is which. Check the 5 GHz Sync with 2.4 GHz: is set to NO.

Once you have done that "forget" the connection on your devices and then restart the devices and log onto both the SSids if the devices can use both frequencies. Not all devices can use 5GHz.

Re: HH5 keeps dropping and reconnecting wifi

i expect it started around the time you got the new software on hub 5b as sounds like issues i had when hub 5b upgraded to latest software.

Re: HH5 keeps dropping and reconnecting wifi

No I haven't changed that, but I could change it to 1 day

EDIT: I have just checked and it is set for 1 day. Not quite sure why you thought it wasn't

Shamus, have you resolved your issue yet? Looking at the data it does seem to coincide with the FW update (although I can't be 100% certain of this)

Re: HH5 keeps dropping and reconnecting wifi

i did go back to a hub 5a but have put hub 5b  back in as it is a far better router, the disconnects of the internet have stopped but wifi kept  disconnecting, what i have done now is manually select wireless channels and seems to be better as regards to wireless drop outs.also when i had hub 5 a   working it was also suffering the same wireless dropouts so am quite sure it is interference at my home thats why i have turned smart wireless off.

the intention was to change from hub default of 1 day to max 21 days so only renews lease every 21 days
