Last thing Wednesday (22 Feb 2017) eveniing I lost connection to mapped drives on my network.
Thursday morning switched laptop on which is connected to the hub via cable which came up with no internet access.
Connected using wifi and got full internet connection.
Tried other computers around the house using network and no internet access.
Contacted BT Support who didn't know/fix the problem so received a replacement Hub 5 today, Friday 24 Feb 2017.
Problem still there.
Using both my laptops (Win 7 & Win 10) full access using wifi. Conect to hub with a NEW patch cable and the result is no access allowed to the internet.
Have tried setting network cards to obtain ip address automatically and fixed ip address which makes no difference.
Been trying all sorts of things:-
reset hub to factory settings = nope
disconnected broadband connection and re-connected = nope, except for change in ip address
fixed ip addresses = nope
allow automatic ip allocation = on looking at the local area connection status (wired/ethernet) I noticed that DCHP was enabled AND the assigned ip address was 169.254.46.30
So, the question is = where is the dchp control? In the hub or external in BT's network somewhere.
If somewhere in the BT network then can some good BT network engineer please investigate that particular box.
Mind you, thinking about it, no one from BT actually reacts to this site 😞
Just come off the phone to India. After 45 minutes of going over everything I'm now going to get a HHUB6 as a free Replacement.
So, wait and see......
