Hello - my HP 5740 printer does not now recognise our homehub. It has been working fine for last 12 months but last week an error message appeared - IP address not connected. Network name not available. I have tried all the online solutions on BT website, have twice used the chat room and today spoke for an hour to someone from the Tech team who could only suggest that I explore a solution via HP as he was sure there is nothing wrong with the Homehub. Trouble is this also affects an older laptop and a kindle fire which used to connect fine but cannot now recognise the Homehub. I asked if a replacment Hub would resolve the problem to which the answer was probably not. I am struggling here and would appreciate some plain and straightforward advice
Welcome to this user forum.
Try a factory reset of the home hub.
Then turn Smart Setup off.
Also try separating and renaming the SSIDs as that can cause problems with Apple stuff.
I have now carried out the suggested solutions which has not resolved the issue. Not only does my HP printer not recognise/identify our BT Homehub but and older Dell laptop than the one I am using at moment does not now recognise the Homehub or a Samsung Galaxy tablet. I am convinced that the problem therefore lies with the Homehub. Does BT provide a service where an engineer can visit or should I try and ask for a replacment Homehub?
A new homehub is now on its way, fingers x this problem does not arise again!
