Hidden network

How can I turn off the hidden network as I am not using BT Whole Home WiFi?

Not only is the hub running hot and wasting electricity.

We can see the network and it asks for a password which we do not know.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Hidden network

If the hidden network is coming from your Wholehome disks (probably their backhaul) and you're not using them, then just unplug them!

Re: Hidden network

We do not have and never have had any discs plugged in.  The hidden network is constantly broadcasting.

@HelloHorace

Its the backhaul connection for any BT Complete Wi-Fi disks, whether you have any or not.

Re: Hidden network

Hi Keith,

I know what it is.  As my post states, I want to switch it off because it's not in use, wasting electricity and generating unnecessary radiation.

Thanks.

Re: Hidden network

Unfortunately, you can't.

Re: Hidden network

I don`t think that is possible, maybe there is an option on the BT Smart Hub 2 to turn off Wi-Fi, but you will still have radiation from the DECT base unit inside the hub, and you cannot turn that off.

I suspect most of the heat is simply generated by the rest of the internal hardware.

Some info about power usage https://bt-digital-voice.blogspot.com/p/bt-smart-hub-2.html
