Re: Home Hub 4 and TP-Link WA850RE Extender

Go to solution

I have a HomeHub 4 with infinity... today I just bought a TP-Link WA850RE Extender.. I thought it was working as my Nexus 7 could access FB & twitter apps A-okay... but then i tried to go browsing... hit this redirect loop error...

I have worked my way through these posts but have got nowhere... is there a definitive reason why this problem is happening & a simple remedy before i give up & return this item as faulty ?

ICT Specialist.. trust me, i think i know what im doing...

I returned mine as faulty and bought a NETGEAR - WN2500RP-100UKS Universal WiFi Range Extender. It cost me £70 but its spot on, instantly connected after 2 minutes through the WPS setup and everything works. It also supports the 5ghz signal as well as 2.4ghz and comes with fastlane technology allowing you to connect to the router in 5ghz and the extender broadcasts in 2.4ghz at the same time to give maximum wifi performance. I don't think I've noticed any speed drop and the range this thing boosts is big.

Highly recommended.

BT now have their own device to do that.

I've bought the TP Link WA750RE. Tried the quick set up using the WPS buttons.  Initailly worked great, but not getting no Internet connection or re-directs.  Was really hoping this would be plug and play, but not the case.  I too would really appreciate a step by step guide on how to configure the extender with my BT hub 4!

I have a BT home hub 4, and bought the very extender you mention below (BT 600).

It seems very easy to set up with the WPS button and indeed connected quickly to the home hub and increased the signal strength satsifactorily but unfortunately when trying to connect to the internet through the extender I keep getting the "too many redirects" message and cannot connect.

Not being very technically minded are you able to advise step by step instructions about what to do that would solve this problem (I thought that by buying a BT product to go with the Home Hub I wouldn't have such problems!)?

Hi, before you send back your extender gear as faulty, just wanted to say that I'm having the same problem with Belkin dual band wireless range extenders too.

They worked fine with the HH3, but same issues as other posters - ending up with the multiple redirects message.

Have tried to follow the thread but as a non techie I am finding this confusing, particularly as I'm on a different brand of extender.

Is there an agreed way to sort this now? I definitely need an idots guide! Smiley Embarassed

Re: Home Hub 4 and TP-Link WA850RE Extender

I have a linksys wireless extender and I've trired it with multiple routers and its always caused big problems. I've even swapped it out for a replacement and had the same problem. I checked out online and a lot of people were reporting the same problem with wireless wireless extenders. They need a very good signal strength to stay properly connected, if they dont stay properly connected you end up with two different networks with the same name and one cant connect to the internet so you get weird problems.
