Home Hub 5 - LAN Only?

I've just moved and currently have no internet connection. I wanted to use my Home Hub for LAN only at the moment for sharing files etc across the network.

I thought it would just automatically work but after plugging it in the orange light come on and an orange "b". All my devices can connect but it comes up with "sign in to network" and automatically brings up a page telling me I need to configure it to gain an internet connection.

Is it possible to use the hub as a router only for a LAN network?

Re: Home Hub 5 - LAN Only?

Hi,

I use a Home Hub 5A as a LAN switch so it it possible.

Check if Smart Setup is enabled, and if so, turn it off. You can access this via http://192.168.1.254, then Advanced Settings -> Home Network -> Smart Setup and click the No radio button and click the Apply button.

See full instructions in Switching Smart Setup on and off on the BT Home Hub 4 or Hub 5.

Regards

Just cancel the warnings, they are because you have no internet connection. The orange light will remain on.
