Re: Home Hub 5 VPN issues after firmware upgrade

Over normal WiFi or BTfon WiFi?
If over WiFi do u think u could be more helpful, and explain how ( and what you changed.)
If over BTfon, then that's not helping us at all

Re: Home Hub 5 VPN issues after firmware upgrade

No, I tested it using a VyprVPN endpoint using the Windows built-in dialler to setup a L2TP session.

It seems VPN works but Check POint VPN-1 SecureClient doesn't so I recommend you contact www.checkpoint.com for support.

I believe there view is BT software had blocked ports the software uses. So they they not their problem. BT say nothing we've done (but of course it is)

Have you tried putting the PC you are running Checkpoint on into the DMZ? There is a setting for that on the Homehub http://192.168.1.254/index.cgi?active_page=9112

Re: Home Hub 5 VPN issues after firmware upgrade

NOT an option due to the security implications

DMZ
Only one device, with either a static or a DHCP address, can be placed into the DMZ. The Hub will give it a private IP address and forward all appropriate traffic to this device.

Important: Placing a host in DMZ has significant implications for its security. Although it will be still located behind the Hub’s firewall ALL unsolicited traffic not rejected by the firewall will be sent to this host by the Hub’s Network Address Translator, increasing it’s vulnerability to attack

Re: Home Hub 5 VPN issues after firmware upgrade

I suggest you do it just to see if it works.
