Re: How to set up for Digital voice and Tv but using ASU’s zenwifi for wifi

Well no, quite the opposite, if you leave the Asus in router mode and connect LAN to WAN it is more complicated. You need to consider DHCP settings and IP configuration. In ap mode and LAN to LAN, it is just a question of moving the cables.

I’ll try this in the next day or so and let you know what I found simpler 😆

other than simplicity, is there any reason to take either the subnet approach or the AP approach over the other?

If you are a gamer, double natting can sometimes be a problem if you take the 2 router approach rather than router and AP. Also if you have devices connected to both subnets, they will not be able to communicate with each other easily if you need to do that.

PBX... I find the Asus Zen WiFi AP mode very simple to set up.

As I previously said, I plugged the ethernet cable carrying the internet into the WAN port of the Asus. However, it also worked in any of the LAN ports too.

As I said, it isn't a WAN port when in AP mode, its just another LAN port.
