By pressing the wires into the insulation displacement connector with (ideally) the correct tool or failing that a very thin bladed screwdriver.

I have the tools for it.
Do I connect both of them to terminal 2 or 5 or one of them to terminal 2 and one of them to 5?
Please help

1 wire to 2 and other to 5

Connecting the wires didn’t work. I might have installed it wrong here is a picture of it

Correctly wired. Did you replace the frontplate at the master before testing at the extension?

I did put it back but I didn’t think I plugged in the router correctly i will try it again and see if it works.

Plug a phone in and see if you get dial tone.

No it didn’t work I tried the router and telephone and the router flashed orange and the broadband light was red and the telephone said check telephone line. I don’t know what’s happening

It was just a long shot. You either need to get somebody in to sort you wiring out or go for plan B,  powerline adaptors.
