IPv4 connection to Home Hub

One of my machines can no longer reach the HomeHub using the IPv4 address 192.168.1.254 via Edge, Chrome or Firefox.  The address changes to "http://192.168.1.254/00000111500/gui/" but the GUI does not appear.

If I use the IPv6 address It works!  Other machines on my network seem to be working OK.

Any idea what may be happening.

Thanks

Re: IPv4 connection to Home Hub

Problem solved, but raises a question. It was not the difference between using IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, but rather http v https. When using the IPv6 address I inadvertently had also used https. If I go to https://192.168.1.254 I now get through (after ignoring security warning).
Can anyone explain why this one m/c will only accept https addresses - I know there is a general move by browsers in that direction.
