Re: IPv6 address available but no connection

The behaviour has been the same with every version of the code I've tried including the factory shipped version. I'm now on a Beta version. I don't think the RT-88 is very common though so maybe no one has tried this version before

Re: IPv6 address available but no connection

A quick look found a post on Kitz.  Seemingly Asus are still ironing out the firmware (as of May), not sure if they have a general release ready yet as you say you have a Beta,  so it's still looking like a firmware bug.  Soon, perhaps?

I think the most recent on the site is Version 3.0.0.4.382.15850 dated 29 August.

Re: IPv6 address available but no connection

Have you got this working? I have the same router and can’t get IPv6 working either

Re: IPv6 address available but no connection

Nope, not got it working yet. Haven't had a chance to look any further at it yet through. But I think I will flag it to ASUS when I get enough round tuits.

Re: IPv6 address available but no connection

I contacted Asus who just replied that it should be automatic and have I got the username and password input which I have. Bit frustrating as people with the same router seem to have it working. Was trying to downgrade to merlin firmware but can’t get the router in recovery mode at all

Re: IPv6 address available but no connection

I haven't seen anyone else with this router have it working - where did you see that?

What's merlin firmware?

Re: IPv6 address available but no connection

So the devices on my network seem to be getting three IPV6 addresses - link local and two public IPs, and the ::/0 route points to the link-local address of the gateway (shouldn't it be the 2a00:: public IP?)

Following dump is from a windows machine but I see two IPv6 addresses if I look on the settings screen of my Android devices too

C:\>netsh interface ipv6 show route

Publish Type     Met  Prefix                      Idx Gateway/Interface Name
------- -------- --- ------------------------ --- ------------------------
No      Manual   256  ::/0                        6   fe80::6245:cbff:fe17:a0c0
No      System   256  ::1/128                     1   Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1
No      Manual   16   2a00:23c4:abcd:efgh::/56    6   fe80::6245:cbff:fe17:a0c0
No      Manual   256  2a00:23c4:abcd:efgh::/64    6   vEthernet (External)
No      System   256  2a00:23c4:abcd:efgh:20a5:rstu:383c:49d0/128 6 vEthernet (External)
No      System   256  2a00:23c4:abcd:efgh:9d36:wxyz:4842:cf9e/128 6 vEthernet (External)

etc.

Re: IPv6 address available but no connection

Merlin firmware is custom for the router, seems to be more stable if you google it, problem is the build number is lower, which you can only put on if your put the router into recovery mode, but try as I might I can’t get it

Re: IPv6 address available but no connection

The data looks good.

You could check this site from a PC and see what the results are.  Just paste the first IPv6 address in the list and not the temporary one.
