Improve wifi speed/connectivity options?

We live remotely and suffer with very poor internet speeds (current provider is BT) - what products can you recommend, cheaper the better, to try and improve connectivity, even if only marginally?

Re: Improve wifi speed/connectivity options?

unfortunately you must be so remote that even though cab 1 has FTTC available you are to far from the cabinet to be able to get FTTC

Those results will be the same for all providers that use the Openreach network. If you have a number of close neighbours who are getting slow speed, then perhaps the Openreach Community Partnership Scheme may be worth trying.

Re: Improve wifi speed/connectivity options?

Yes we live VERY remote! What does FTTC mean exactly please? What can I try, will no type of extender or booster help?

Re: Improve wifi speed/connectivity options?

FTTC delivers faster broadband from enabled cabinets, but you are too far away from the cabinet. Nothing you can add at your end, will improve the connection speed of 1Mbs.

Try the BT USO link.

Re: Improve wifi speed/connectivity options?

No immediate neighbours and no BT plans for any lines upgrades…
