Internet Roping

A BT OpenReach guy turned up at my door yesterday saying I needed my ‘Internet Roping’. I said I knew nothing about it. He replied that I should have had a letter about it a couple of weeks ago, which I didn’t. With that he went away. Frankly, even if I had received a letter there is no way I would have allowed it, we are in the middle of a pandemic and being ‘elderly’ I am not taking any chances. No one comes in my home at the moment.  Can anyone enlighten me what ‘internet roping’ is please, I’m intrigued.

Re: Internet Roping

Either he was a scammer or he was referring to a draw rope in preparation for pulling in a fibre cable.

By the way, there is no such company as BT Openreach, it is Openreach.

Re: Internet Roping

If he was just pulling in a draw rope in the duct, he wouldn't have needed to come in any way, so suspect he was a scammer.
