@ribbielancs, yes smart setup is off, but the sky q wifi setup doesn't offer channel 48 so no way that could work.
I'll look at changing the wireless mode though.
Not sure how many have sh2 and a sky q silver set up

If you are using Windows(10), there’s a good network analyser free app.

It gives you a good insight of which channels are in use. It shows hidden channels also.

It’s the hub which you must set at ch 48, not the sky box. A problem with conflicting mesh networks, perhaps.

Perhaps the BT expert may comment and give some very useful advice.

Had an issue this morning whereby everyone's wifi connection completely vanished. Mobile devices, printer, basically everything over wifi, the signal would vanish and come back a few seconds later and kept on doing this for a few mins before stopping. 20 mins would pass before it would happen again! I've pulled the power from the router & disc so hopefully this will resolve. Weirdly there was no indication on the router or disc (lights) that there was an issue.

been there, it the sky q box it only offers certain channels and channel 48 isn't one of them.
I had tried channel 44 but that affected the sky connection thus delving into the configuration further.
I'd still love to know why the sh2 isn't saying why devices that support dual band don't accept it.
come on BT engineers I know you are reading this.
