Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

It’s all mysterious.
I checked again on the iPhone 8.
There was an update found by searching in the Apple store and tapping “update”. Yet it was working before the update. Not so on the iPad,which gave a warning.
Can you do an app search on your tablet?

Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

I've had it loaded on my (Android) tablet for some time but it stopped working (yesterday) and said the tablet was incompatible. It told me to go to the App Store (sic). Play Store just says the tablet is incompatible. It works on my (Android) phone.

Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

It’s one for our BT Devices Expert, then.

If it’s any consolation, the iPad MyBt app ceased working only today, and a warning appeared to go to the App Store.

So is the latest update at fault?

Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

So, my current setup is that my smart hub is in my integrated garage as that's where my builder decided to put the master socket.  I then use a TP-Link RE200 Range Extender so that i have ethernet going into my you view box and devices (xbox, now tv etc) upstairs wireless on a 3 bed house.

Question? - Do the extender disks have ethernet ports on them, i.e. to connect my youview box to and remove the TP Link Extender or will the TP link extender still work with the Smart Hub 2 / Disks.

Also, I wanted to know what benefits the new hub has over the old.

In comparing the results from the test at https://img01.products.bt.co.uk/content/dam/bt/storefront/pdfs/smart_hub_claims_substantiation.pdf

for my given setup (removed Room A as no devices in there and Room D as only ground and 1st floor), it seems the Smart Hub 2 offers some key wins and where it doesn't, the difference between the two is marginal (but at my connection speed of 17-26mb, i'm unlikely to see any significant benefits.)

Question - Is it worth getting the New Hub based on the information above?

Thanks

Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

I could be very interested in this offer, but before jumping in I have a couple of questions.

1. I cuurently have a HH5A which, as is well known, has the irritating habit of automatically re-booting every 14 days. Does the new hub do the same?

2. What is the procedure for getting extra discs? Given the size and construction of my house, I would probably need 2 discs.

Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

Hi  @alan_mc - the info we've posted online is just for the Smart Hub & Smart Hub 2.

The biggest benefit of Smart Hub 2 is moving to Complete Wi-FI then you get much faster speeds in Room C / D - I'll drop through some more specific data points a little later.  Do you need better wi-fi than you've got with your current Smart Hub?

We don't recommend / support using the Wi-Fi Discs for BT TV (yet... we may in the future but want to make sure it'll work brilliantly) - if your current setup's working - I'd recommend keeping it as is

Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

Adding to my reply for  @alan_mc

... I recommend... keeping your TV setup as is

... But, if you need a faster wi-fi signal at distance in your home... Complete WI-Fi, with the Discs will provide a better experience
