Issues with Home Hub 5 and Amazon Firestick

Hi there,

I'm having real trouble connecting my new amazon fire stick to my bt home hub 5.

A bit of background, I have bt infinity and all other devices connect fine.

When trying to connect the fire stick to the home hub I get the message "cannot connect to amazon.co.uk please check router or try another method"

I've tried out all suggestions I could find already and have hit a bit of a brick wall...

Smart set up has been turned off and I have also deprecated the 5ghz and the 2.5 bands, and tried to connect to both with no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions before I throw my home hub out the front window?!?!

@Rhysmk

Welcome to this forum.

First try a factory reset of the home hub,

Do you have BT Parental controls or BT Protect active on your BT account?

Hi @Keith_Beddoe, thanks for your reply.

I have completed a factory reset on the hub and we've never had any restrictions in place...

Have you checked by logging int MyBT to see if either of those have been turned on?

Amazon kit can attempt to access other DNS servers, that will fail if any of those extras are active.
