I have a MacPro which is running latest Yosemite - it connects from one of the Ethernet connectors to an Ethernet socket on the back of the HH5.
Whatever I do, I am only able to make the MacPro work by configuring the TCP/IP settings manually. Once configured manually, everything is fine.
DHCP fails to pull an IP Address or any settings from the HH5. Rebooting doesn't help.
Any bright ideas?
You could try a factory reset of the hub using a pin in the recessed hole rather than reboot.
I get the same result after a reset via the little switch inside the hole on the back:
Status: The cable for Ethernet 1 is connected, but your computer does not have an IP address.
Observing using another computer, after trying to connect using DHCP the HH5 reports the MacPro has address 192.168.1.64 and correctly reports the MAC Address
If I connect manually, using 22.214.171.124, HH5 still reports the MacPro on .64
Full disclosure (in case this is related):
This is one of a number of problems with the HH5:
MacbookPro struggles to connect wirelessly or disconnects frequently - works okay if 5GHz is disabled in HH5.
Daily (and sometimes 3x daily) it reboots itself.
Frequently YouView and Netflix on Youview struggles with buffering.
