Re: Master Socket Query

@MattTing

If you are still having issues connecting try this. ( If using a static IP on PC set it to dynamic to connect to the modem on 192.168.2.1   It will let you know that the modem is working properly and the issue is with the router config).

Connect modem to phone socket as you normally would, connect PC to modem with ethernet cable.  Open Network and Sharing Centre in Windows.

Select Setup a new Connection or Network.

Select Connect to the Internet, click next.

You will see Broadband PPoE,  click that and enter user name and password from earlier post.

Click Connect.  Your PC should now have access to the Internet.

Didn't have any problems here, tested the modem by doing the above and once it proved to be working, reconfigured the router (a FritzBox 3390) to connect to an external modem and that was it.

Need to go out for an hour or so, I'll check the post when I get back.

That's a good one, the usual account problems like not provisioned yet obviously don't apply.  I suspect it's the router configuration is wrong.  You did use the username and password mentioned before?

Think it might be sorted. Router is upgrading firmware which I take as a good sign..

Well it seems to indicate you have a connection to the Internet.  So looking good.

Having to only enter user name and password is about as close as you are going to get. Smiley Happy

Indeed.  Glad you got it all working, I think you'll be happy with that kit.
