Re: Microwave Oven 2.4Ghz interference & Smart hub 2 not switching to 5 Ghz

Try using a wifi analyser on your phone and that will show surrounding and your own networks and also the strength of both the 2.4 and 5ghz networks. In the same room as hub my dual band devices select the 5ghz automatically

Re: Microwave Oven 2.4Ghz interference & Smart hub 2 not switching to 5 Ghz

I have the same problem. My work laptop is only 2.4ghz, whenever the microwave is used I drop off skype conferences. Would changing the wifi channel help?

Unlikely, as the microwave frequency would be unstable, and  affect all channels.

Connect your work laptop to the BT Home hub, using an Ethernet cable, or a broadband extender.
