Re: Moved from HH4 to HH6 but speeds are a lot lower

HH6 rebootig automatically every 7 days or so remotely.  Stats NOT improving;

DSL uptime: 2 Days, 3 Hours 37 Minutes 15 Seconds
Data rate: 20.00 Mbps / 65.61 Mbps
Maximum data rate: 22715 / 79404
Noise margin: 6.6 dB / 6.3 dB
Line attenuation: 14.3 dB

I lose the best part of 4Mb/s on the 5Ghz band on the best router!!  Why?
I have a max data rate of 79Mb/s  yet I am losing 14Mb/s to the HH6!! Why?

Re: My Broadband on status shows incorrect Broadband Package

Because they are exactly the same service, any restrictions are applied by BT, and the hub would be unaware of this. Its just part of the firmware.

You would have to login to MyBT, to see what service you are paying for, however if your line cannot support Infinity 2 speeds, then you are wasting your money,

Re: My Broadband on status shows incorrect Broadband Package

My problem to date is that wen I signed up for Infinity 2 I was getting 78Mb/s download at my machine on wireless. I am now getting barely above 60Mb/s and this seems to me to be a change in contract!!

No its not.

Due to a Government ruling ISP are no longer allowed to state in their adverts " Speeds Up to". They must now give the average speed that the package delivers for all the customers on that package.

That is why the package now states "Average Speed 67Mbps"  This means some will get more than that speed and some will get less than that. This basically means it is a totally meaningless statement in the same way that "Speeds Up To" was.

The only way you will know for sure what sort of speeds you will get is by running the BT Speed Estimate checker which will give you a range of speeds that you can expect from your line.

Re: My Broadband on status shows incorrect Broadband Package

Sorry to disagree, but as I had 78Mb/s when I first signed up to Infinity 2 then a 60-61Mb/s then I expect my connection to maintain within about 10% of that obtained when first joining!

As for the speed well the check via the web site gave me; 'You can get speeds up to 80Mb with Superfast Fibre 2, and you can get BT TV' so as far as I am concerned the statement I made earlier is valid!
