Need to connect my smart bulbs to 2.4 but can’t split

Hello.

our new router can not be split into two

2.4 and 5ghz

the problem is our smart bulbs can only connect to a 2.4ghz Wi-Fi and no matter what we use it does to work.

it worked with our previous Wi-Fi which we had to also split to get it to work.

is their a way around This or do we have to get rid of the smart bulbs and replace with ones that connect to any network settings ?

What router do you have now? If a BT SmartHub 2 you can disable the 5GHz WiFi so that you can try and get your bulbs working.

Yes. Also my suggestion. Turn off 5, connect smart bulbs, Turn on 5

The only problem I’d have their is that everything else is connected to the internet so would this not cause problems with everything else connected

Only for the few minutes whilst you turn off 5Ghz. But most devices would then connect to 2Ghz
