Netflix Error On Sky Q - BT issue? Help!

Hello I have a Sky Q box connected to my TV, using the Netflix App on the Sky Q box.

I have BT infinity and download speed of 50mbps.

Just recently, having worked fine for about 6 months I get “we’re having trouble playing this right now, please try again later or select another title” error

This error happens about 5/10 secs after actually loading and watching the title.

Netflix works fine on all my other devices.

The problem seems to be Sky Q. But I think it’s Sky Q/Netflix with BT.

I’ve googled the error and people have been told by Sky it’s Netflix and by a Netflix is a sky issue.

I’ve also read on here it could be the way the BT smart hub handled DNS with respect to Netflix?

I’m no computer expert. Any advice appreciated.

I’ve tried restarting/refreshing/reloading including factory resetting the hub, Netflix and Sky Q all with no luck.

Without the nuclear option of factory hard reset my Sky Q box, losing all my recording etc I’m not sure what to do.

Also nothing changed in my set up causing the error. Interestingly enough it seem to start a month after I renewed my subscription with BT?! Would that change anything?

I use a BT home hub type A and the sky box is connected via ethernet.

So in summary - anyone reckon it’s a BT issue when combined with Sky Q?

I have Netflix working fine on my Sky Q box, my BB is provided by BT.

Does your mobile service allow you to tether ? try connecting the Sky Q box to your mobile, it shouldn't use too much data to sign in as a test, this would then rule out the broadband connection.

Hi, I’m on 3 and can tether but although it connects it doesn’t load Netflix at all I don’t think 4G is strong enough?

It works fine through my iPhone, laptop and firestick

The problem also happens when I stream from my iPhone to sky Q box...

Sky Q forums can offer no fixes, neither can Netflix.

It’s almost like it loads, but decidea 5/10 secs in that it’s not wanting to play it.

I’m just at a loss. Wonder if trying a different router would work...

I took them off and the smart setup! Netflix works fine on all other devices so I’m asssuming it’s a Netflix on Sky Q error through BT...

Thanks, its just that Parental Controls caused issues with Netflix unless changes are made.

It worked fine months without any issues then all of a sudden it just stopped!
