Openreach Fibre Modem in a New build

Go to solution

I've been battling with BT in regards to placing an order.

I've moved into a new build apartment last week , in the storage cupbaord Openreach Fibre Modem was installed to my suprise. this was great news as I thought this place is aleady connected and it would be a breeze getting infinity set up with BT. I was sooo wrong.

I go to place my order online and My address is not present so I give them a call BT claim I do not a a telephone line set up nor a modem box installed at the new property. But i'm ceartain there is.

others in my apartment block are shown online.

Seems like miscommunition between Openreach and BT

any advice?

Hi @waskhan and welcome.

It sounds like you're trying to order fibre to the premises as opposed to Infinity fibre to the cabinet. If that's the case you'll need to call the FTTP team directly on 0800 587 4787.

Cheers

David

Yes it can as the system would normally identify the correct nature of the connection. However you have just moved into a new build and there is a possibility that the line is not fully connected.

What does this say you can get - you may have to enter your address details if you don't have a phone number https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html

Copy any results but delete your personal info.

Re: Openreach Fibre Modem in a New build

Seems like the Openreach / BT or any other ISP databases dont get updated quickly enough.

My address is displaying on Royal Mail website now.

I sent a enquiry to the FTTP team. they should hopefully get back to me soon.

VIrgin media are the only ones who have my address and can place a order for me. but they wont do FTTP i believe
