Openreach modem needed?

Hi,

I'm a disenchanted Complete Wifi user and, whilst I've decided to stick with BT as an ISP, I'm going to stop using the Smarthub 2 + discs and install something like Netgear Orbi. So, presumably I need to obtain an Openreach modem from somewhere to allow me to connect an alternative router. Am I correct and can someone tell me how to obtain what I need.

Thanks.

Re: Openreach modem needed?

Thanks, there's quite a few there. Not sure what to go for. The problem I'm trying to overcome is devices/apps that complain that they're not connected to the same network although clearly they are, i.e. one SSID. It seems to a problem that arises when a device is connected to one disc and an app on a laptop/tablet connected to the hub or another disc can't see it. It's a constant issue that I've never been able to resolve and I'm now hoping that another solution is better, i.e, Orbi. Trouble is I can't be sure...
