PS4 won’t connect

The worst thing I have done is update my internet with BT, from I have got the smart hub 2 the connectivity is a disaster. First the children’s Nintendo switches wouldn’t connect, then the PS4 wouldn’t connect to the PS network, I had to turn of the web protect and smart set up off. Eventually got the PS4 to connect to the hub through a disc and Ethernet cable, but last night all of a sudden it stopped connecting again and I can’t get it to connect to the internet at all, I have tried using my hotspot on my phone and it will connect that way but won’t allow them to play games on PlayStation now. Can anyone help with ideas? Are all broadband providers got this issue or is it just BT

I'm with BT and also have a PS4. It's connected directly through Ethernet to the hub and has no issues at all.  My parental controls, web protect and adult filters content are all turned off.

All that is off, according to the disc it is connected to the internet but when doing the internet test it is failing

Try connecting directly to the hub and see if it works that way
