Please post the connection information from the home hub.
If you are using the BT Smart hub you can get your connection stats by, Opening a new web browser on your connected device and type 192.168.1.254 or bthomehub.home into the address bar. This will open the Hub Manager. Click ‘Advanced Settings’ and then ‘Technical log’

so i have spoke to 3 people at bt one a manager , 1 in faults and one somewhere else and not one has heard of packet loss
which suprised me !! is there anyone on here that know's about it ??

have you been turning the router on and off regularly ?
how is the PS4 connected?
is the lag when gaming only happening when the PS4 is on or do others use the internet at the same time?
how are you conducting the speed test?
it has been dropping yes , it's a lan connection , the laptop like you tune is slower , i use several speed yesys but ookla is the main one i go off
If you keep turning the router on and off BTs network may think there’s an issue so leave it to settle , don’t keep turning it on and off.
speed tests can be a bit hit or miss at times, again best done on a wired connection.
dont test speed with the PS4 either with its connection test or browser, it’s awful for tests like that.
Lots of issues can show up if you use a wireless, interference, distance, placement of router, area and so on.
if you turn off every device apart from the PS4 with is connected via cable does it still suffer from lag?
what online games are you playing, ie COD for example.
