Poor wifi in parts of house

I have BT broadband but it's not working in certain areas of the house I was wondering if the wifi discs would help?

Re: Poor wifi in parts of house

@Bertieboo A better Wi-Fi router or mesh network will likely help. The BT discs are fine but there’s a good selection of alternatives out there from Asus, and Netgear to name just a few.

Or a cheaper option would be powerline adapter wifi hotspots. TP Link have a comprehensive range. https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/powerline/

Re: Poor wifi in parts of house

Is the extender roughly half way between the router and the device your trying to improve? Wi-Fi can be impacted by things like wall construction, thick walls, a neighbour using the same channel etc. I’d start by scanning for someone using the same channel or trying a series of channels to see if a specific channel gives a better result. You could also try a speed tester app at different locations to see where the speeds really drop off significantly. What sort of speeds are you expecting and get connected at the router?
