Possibly being remotely controled?

I recently received the new BT Hub i left my computer on over night and awoke to this tab open

"http://go.microsoft.com/0000013200/gui/?item=fwlink/?LinkID=219472&clcid=0x409#/main/"

I did not open this tab i had only a few tabs open one being the dailymail i checked my search history and these were showing

i am somewhat suspecting that my internet turned off and on as when i opened the dailymail tabs this message was shown

but i'm also worried that my pc might have been remotely controlled due to this thread i found with very similar issues to mine;

Re: Possibly being remotely controled?

No expert on hubs but it looks like it restarted around 05:51,  probably due to a BT remote admin connection (TR69).  Either checking firmware version or updating same.  Nothing obviously concerning that I can see.

Re: Possibly being remotely controled?

BT do have the facility to push remote software updates to your Home Hub.  This is normally done overnight.  Following the update, the Hub would have rebooted, which is why your browser says it lost the connection.

Re: Possibly being remotely controled?

This has just happened to me and happens on a regular basis since I upgraded to fibre in January. When I had the old internet, it never used to drop conection. Can I have my old internet back?
