Problem accessing a secure website

Go to solution

Hello,

Via BT, I'm unable to access https://www.bdtkd.co.uk . Depending on browser used, I either get a friendly BT message saying site could be malicious, or a "SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP' error.

If I connect to a VPN I can access web site fine. I've checked the SSL certificate an it appears to be in order.

I contacted the owner of the website and they say it's a know issue with BT customers.

Any ideas how I can report this to BT and ask them to investigate?

Thanks,

Hi @jamiefc

It's loading okay for me using Edge. You could try Google DNS settings, do you have Parental Controls turned on?

Hi

Yes, just noticed that changing DNS settings (google, or opendns) and site works.

So it's BT's DNS that's causing the problem it appears.

Thanks

Jamie

I dont' have parential controls enabled.
However "bt web protect" was enabled, so will disable that and see if it makes a difference.
