Re: Internet dropping out at same time every night

Totally frustrated, everyday at around 5.30pm our laptops, iPads and all devices get kicked out of the internet unceremoniously.

Tried the on line help, didn’t help, they split the signal or something, hasn’t helped.

Every Monday to Friday getting the same issue. Looking at the BT notice boards many customers suffering this issue without any reasonable response or resolution.

This should be considered as breach of contract and allow customers to move providers !

Re: Internet dropping out at same time every night

If you are dropping connection at about 5.30 PM monday/friday that suggest something local that is causing interference either in your home or close by. What is different that it does not happen at weekends?

Re: Internet dropping out at same time every night

Hi,

It hasn’t helped. We have to re-enter the password every time on our TVs and is highly annoying.

Frankly, we’re going to complain formally to BT it’s not acceptable. My children and I are beyond annoyed. It’s just a load of rubbish now. We have been kicked out four times already this evening.

Gone beyond a joke.

Re: Internet dropping out at same time every night

If you have to re-enter password is it just the wireless connection that is dropping not the actual internet connection. Post router stats

have you checked for REIN. Use portable radio tuned to 612mw and listen for interference

Re: Internet dropping out at same time every night

Hi,

Thank you for your response but we’ve had enough and complained formally to BT.

We are not tech savvy, don’t have a radio to do this AM612 thing.

We are paying for a service and frankly not receiving it. Had to log into our TV three times this evening. The kids are blaming each other, we dare not open the proverbially fridge door in case it upsets the signal / connection.

Laptops are being kicked out and then the laptop cannot re find the signal / connection.

we’re not doing anything exotic, just the normal. emails, iPad and some Now TV or bbc iPlayer.

just not good enough I am disappointed to say,

Re: Internet dropping out at same time every night

Hi @bsg1972  and welcome.

I'm really sorry you're having so many problems with the connection. can you confirm as per @imjolly  post if the hub lights change when the drops occur? Do all wireless and wired devices lose connection? Is there anything else in the area that happens at the same time i.e. heating pumps switching on?

Cheers

David

Re: Internet dropping out at same time every night

Hi David,

The blue light stays on...no change then we get kicked out. We have to re-enter the password on the TV everytime.

We moved the router after the last exchange of emails (REIN) to the middle of the house. But next day, regular as clockwork, got kicked out on the Laptops, and the TV.

A bit lost really, hence complaining.

B.

Re: Internet dropping out at same time every night

Hi @bsg1972  and thanks for getting back.

Sorry for the late reply. Have you tried switching off the Smart Set Up as per @imjolly  post?

Cheers

Re: Internet dropping out at same time every night

If the hub light remains blue then that suggests your internet connection is ok but the problem is with your wireless connection from the hub to your device. Have you split the networks and tried changing wireless channel. http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/56419/~/how-do-i-split-my-bt-hubs-ssid-%28wireless-ne...
