Hi everyone
First post here after doing LOTS of reading but unable to resolve my issues!
Like many I am trying to replace the BT Smart Hub due to coverage in my house. (Usual drill - old, thick walls etc). I have purchased a Linksys Velop mesh system and an HG612 modem.
Where I am struggling is that the HG612 does not seem to receive a signal from the master socket. The DSL light does not light up when I unplug the incoming cable from my BT Smart Hub into the HG612. Between the master socket and the hub/modem there is a standard BT issued microfilter that splits the line into DSL/phone.
Any pointers gratefully received.
Thanks in advance
The Openreach modem will not work on Ultrafast broadband, if that is what you hav.
You have a faulty modem.
I am not sure of the package speeds, but if you look at the connection speed of your home hub, you should get some idea.
If it is a G.Fast connection, then you are stuck, as there are very few stand alone modems for G.fast.

Is it an unlocked modem, if so the config may have been changed from default. You could try a factory reset of the modem to restore it to defaults that should be plug and play.
