I am trying to replace my (very unreliable) BT HomeHub3 router and BT Openreach modem with a TP-LINK Archer VR900 modem/router.
I can’t get the TP-LINK to connect to the internet. I am plugging it directly into the Openreach phone socket with a DSL cable.
This is all the info I get:
Internet Status: Disconnected
Please check if your phone cable is properly connected.
Connection Type: PPPoE
IP Address: 0.0.0.0
DNS Server: 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0
Am I missing something obvious? I have tried both VDSL and ADSL. Any help would be most welcome.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Have you put in the username email@example.com and password bt
Also set the VLAN ID to 101.
Should all be on the Internet setup page. Can't give a screen dump of settings as I don't use a TP-Link.
did youi enter username firstname.lastname@example.org and password anything say BT
Welcome to this user forum.
I have a guide here for the cheaper TP Link one, if its any help
You will need to connected to BT Broadband to access this link, and any other links I post.
I put username as email@example.com and tried password as BT, bt and blank.
VLAN ID was 101.
I don`t think you have the DSL side of things set up, did you select BT VDSL as the provider when you used the setup wizard (if it has one)?
I went in the advanceed setup and under DSL Settings I selected:
It does help to have the DSL setup correctly first
It would help if I actually understood any of this in the first place!
