Smart Hub 2: Missing Ethernet devices. But they work?

Go to solution

Hi all,

Connected my brand new smart hub 2 today.

Everything went fine, just one problem…

My cctv system has a fixed IP (set in the cctv hardware). 192.168.141

When I go into my smart hub 2, devices, it isn’t showing.

I have a huh connected to port 1, which has the cctv, as well as lots of other dhcp devices.

The strange thing is - the cctv can be accessed at the fixed IP. So it’s working. Its using the fixed up. It’s just not showing in the by hub.

Ideally - I’d like to get it to show, as I want to access it externally at a specific port. (Like I did on my TP-link router) m.y.i.p/:8000

thanks for any help.

The BT hub network map is notoriously flaky and cannot be relied upon to show a true picture of the network.

No idea why you think you need it to show in order to access it as you know its IP address and can just configure port forwarding to it.

Thanks,

After a lot of resetting the hub and the switch, I finally got it to show up.

But as you said - I did not realise the port forwarding could be done in “firewall” section.

At first glance, it looked like you had to click the device and do port rules from there.

thanks again.
