I have just taken delivery of a new smart hub 2. Previously was using HH4 with a bt router. My internet speed with the HH4 was around 50.
Having set up the new hub the speed is 42. The speed test tells me that the speed is slow - whilst I am not hung up on speeds surely it shouldn't be 20% lower than the old equipment.
Contacting the helpline has so far told me to stick a pin in the back of the hub and factory reset it (why its new?) - they have refreshed the line or something and should do the trick (it doesn't) and "monitor it" - I have the speed stays exactly the same. I'm wondering what to do next - my 14 day cooling off period will soon be up and I don't want to be stuck with equipment that doesn't do its job properly.
can you post stats from sh2 advanced settings then technical log information
enter phone number and post results delete number but leave exchange and cab https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html
have you turned off smart setup - if not turn it off
from stats you currently have 45mb connection speed there is no guarantee on download speed
dslchecker results will help
Thanks for the reply.
I appreciate that there is no guarantee on speed but your advertisements seem to suggest that significant increases in broadband speeds can be achieved with the new hub.
The speed checker tells me that my speed is slow and to contact technical help. My previous equipment is 7 years old and gives better speeds.
Maybe I 'll just send the new hub back as I'm paying more money for a lower performance.
the new hub will not magically give you faster speed really need to see dslchecker reults to see what your line estimate is and also which exchange and cab you are on
if you only get about 50mb conenction not sure why you are on superfast fibre 2 as you cannot get faster than fibre 1
