Smart Hub 2 USB Device Server Issues

Hi all,

I am trying to setup my own little cloud storage system using my BT router and an external hard drive. I have plugged it in an attempted to connect to the server on my laptop (Mac). I can enter as a guest, which kicks me every time I turn my computer, Apple TV, phone off, and to connect as the registered user it asking for a username and password. Where do I find this username and password? I assumed it was just the admin password, but apparently not. I also need this username and password to connect to my infuse library.

Does anyone know about this name and password and where I can find them?

Thanks

Re: Smart Hub 2 USB Device Server Issues

No idea, but it has nothing to do with the BT hub, it will be the device you have connected to it.

Re: Smart Hub 2 USB Device Server Issues

For Macs. This is quite an old post but may still be relevant. Connect a USB HDD formatted as ex-fat to the port on the Hub. To then connect to that select the "Go" menu in a finder window and select the bottom option "connect to server".  The BT hub will not allow a connection as a "user" as there is no known password. However it can be accessed without a password by selecting "guest". It will be readable and writable too. The name that appears on the desktop will be "usb1" and this cannot be changed.
