Hello,
I have two NAS devices plugged in to the rear ethernet ports of my Smart Hub 2. I've had them for years. Suddenly they are not showing on the network and going in to the router's settings under My Devices indeed shows that they are not connected. It's as though the ports have suddenly been deactivated. Caused by a firmware update maybe?
Unplugging and restarting everything has not worked so far. What can I do to get these devices back online?
Thanks
J
What firmware version is it?
v.0.17.01.12312-BT from 18-Sep-2025
You sure that's a Smart Hub 2? The latest firmware is about due for an update, (I suspect), but the current version is v0.45.00.08028-BT
It definitely is a Smart Hub 2. At the top of page at 192.168.1.254 it says 'Smart Hub 2 Manager'...
Very strange. That almost sounds like the orginal firmware.
Sorry, outside my experience. I'll defer to the more experienced guys to answer then.
Yep, bit of digging suggests v0.17 dates from Dec’19.
The guy having problems then did a back-up of his settings followed by a factory reset. That seemed to get it updating again. I’m not sure if that will fix your ethernet port problem or not though.
Right, OK, I will do a backup of router settings and then a factory reset and report back.
There's no way to update the firmware manually? I don't understand how it says the firmware was updated this week, but the version is from 6 years ago...I think I only got the hub in 2021...
tell chat support ethernet port have failed anf get it replaced job done
So just because of the construction of the router, assuming you are on FTTP (full fibre) and assuming you've been using the two LAN ports furthest from the WAN port, try the LAN port next to the WAN port. In most cases, thanks to the design, if there is an electrical issue, you'll lose 2 ports, but not all 4!
