If you mean turning off smart setup as @imjolly  suggested, then it will not cause any issues, and can fix quite a few.

I disconnected the Smart Hub manager; removed the printer - downloaded a new driver and still no luck.  Then I went onto the HP Smart set up and went through the whole procedure again, then got a prompt to enter the Host ID.  After several hours of trying all of these different tactics I think it might finally be working.  Hopefully it won't drop out again overnight or I will lose the will to live.  Many thanks for the assistance from you knowledgeable guys.
