Smart Hub - cannot connect laptop

Go to solution

When my son came to connect his laptop to my wi-fi network, he could not get access to the internet because his browser directed him to a BT webpage requiring him to sign up for BT FON. I could understand this if he had logged on to a FON signal but he was connected to my router, via wi-fi ,and I've opted out of FON. I'd be grateful for any advice.

Possibly connecting to another nearby hotspot, or your home hub is still transmitting BT Wifi/FON

It should be possible to delete btwifi/FON wireless network from the list of connections on his laptop.

Thanks Keith. When my son came to log on again, he connected straight into my network. I can only assume that his laptop was previously trying to log into a nearby BT FON netwok without us knowing. Anyway problem solved.
