I have had similar issues with the dual band signals. Even on new equipment (iPhone XR).

With errors such as “incorrect password” or “unable to connect”

It works reliably when I switch off 5ghz band and becomes unreliable when I switch it on again.

You cannot split the SSID’s on the smart hub 2 which would probably help if you could.
