Re: Smart hub 2 issue

Welcome to this user forum.

Try turning Smart Setup off.

Did you have another home hub before this one, and did that work?

Why did you change it, as the Smart Hub 2 offers no advantage unless you plan to rent the extra disks from BT ?

It also has a major disadvantage, as you cannot separate the SSIDs, which causes problems with some wireless devices, which is probably what you are trying to do.

Have you tried a direct Ethernet connection, does that work?

Also try disabling the 5GHz wireless on the home hub, and see if that helps.

Re: Smart hub 2 issue

It works when i turn off 5ghz but that defeats the point of having a dual band router.

If you connect it to 2.4GHz, then enable the 5GHz, doe it remain connected to 2.4GHz, as that is one solution which was posted on another thread, where smart device could not connect.

The problem is that you cannot rename the two bands like you could on the old hub, and this upsets devices that can connect to both bands if they have the same SSID.

If you still cannot resolve it, then I suggest that you just use your old hub instead.

Re: Smart hub 2 issue

I assume you did not upgrade to ultrafast, and needed the smart hub 2?

The nearest third party router which works will all BT delivered services, and fully implements UPnP (Xbox etc)  Would be the  TP-Link AC1200 Wireless Dual Band VDSL/ADSL.

A single band one would be about £40.

Yes, its just more expensive, it depends on how much you want to pay.
