Smart hub 2

Hi We recently upgraded to full fibre 150 with BT.  All good except sons Xbox keeps connecting to the 2.4ghz band causing all sorts of lag and ping.  When it at times connects to 5ghz it is great!  Such a pain you can't split bands with SH2.  Is there anyway around this at all please.  Can't just switch to another router as we have digital voice?  Thanks

@markcornelius166

You could always connect the Xbox with an Ethernet cable, or powerline adapters if its too far away from the home hub.

Router and xbox are on different circuits.  Router downstairs   xbox upstairs   would they still work?

Re: Smart hub 2

If they are on the same consumer unit, yes.

Just turn the 2.4 off temporarily until the Xbox connects to the 5 and then turn it back on again. If the Xbox switches from 5 to 2.4 it would indicate that the signal strength of the 5GHz signal is not good enough.
