Smart plugs

I have followed all the instructions and advice to connect my smart plug to my new hub . Eg split the 2.4 and 5gh bands then turned off the 5gh band , saved settings , turned off the hub and restarted it, logged on to tuba app and tried to add device and it still failed.  

Help!!

Change the SSID of the home hub, so that it does not have any non-alphanumeric characters, as some devices do not like the "-" in the SSID.

Change it to something simple, like BThub, then try searching and connecting the smart plug again.

Also the password may be an issue, like in this camera post.
