Re: Software updated tonight and all seems well.

Maybe I did and it was just as bad.... or worse. That aside, clearly there are a great many people posting of issues here so something is definitely amiss with the HH6.

Re: Software updated tonight and all seems well.

My impression is that BT generally release their Hubs too early - of course, they aren't the only company that does that with new products - but that the HH6 was more noticeably premature and unready for general use than earlier Hubs. I suspect the HH6 hardware is essentially fine but the early versions of firmware weren't altogether fit for purpose.

In any case, rather than joining the 'it's rubbish' or 'it's flawless' camps, don't we need to recognise that people don't all make use of the same features? I don't myself use BT Access Control or VPN, so wouldn't have been aware of the apparently widespread problems with those features if I hadn't seen the anguish experienced by people who did want to use them. But I did expect my active BT Wifi status to be carried over from my HH5 to my HH6 (it wasn't) and I like looking at the various event logs (and on the HH6, unlike previous Hubs,  I find that most categories are empty, possibly because the endless LAN Neighbor Discovery events use up most of the space).

Although, like many others, I've experienced lost connectivity notwithstanding a continuing blue light and various oddities relating to DHCP allocation, my HH6 is basically functional and I continue to use it - although I do find the number and nature of its 'rough edges' disappointing.

Re: Software updated tonight and all seems well.

If it's possible to speak with you about your HH6 I'd be very grateful. I have now had 3 HH6s sent to me. None retain the Internet for very long. Just get an orange light. How on earth I can get a HH6 to update to the latest firmware I don't know? The HH6 has now lost it's Internet connection after being alive for 15 minutes or so. I will have to restart it to be able to post this message. I will ring you back straight away if you could ring my mobile **Edited**?

Re: Software updated tonight and all seems well.

I have received it just now:

Firmware version:

SG4B10002236

Firmware updated:

22-Oct-2016

Associated log:

11:16:18, 22 Oct. A device reset was performed (GUI/Button)
..
10:51:46, 22 Oct. The Modem successfully installed a firmware update
10:51:23, 22 Oct. The Modem is installing a firmware update

Interestingly it rebooted itself to install it.

First thing I've noticed is some character corruption in the TR69 logs:

11:21:00, 22 Oct. InformResponse:TR69 receiving x݅ovM message

Appears to be no other changes, so I suspect a bugfix release.

Re: Software updated tonight and all seems well.

Interesting that a firewall rule I've had since getting this hub has changed how it works.

It was set to block access from 12:00 PM to 07:00 AM and has worked fine.

Today it doesn't, now I've had to set it to 12:00 AM to get it to work.

I know midnight and noon are strange, so using a 24 hour format would have been so much easier.

Now with the next update will it get reversed again?

Apart from that everything seems fine.

Yes it is intensely annoying to keep rebooting the HH6 because of lost connectivity until we can get this update. It should be available for people to download and install.

I'm still waiting for mine to update also.
