Split 2.4GHz and 5GHz channel but 5GHz channel not showing up

I have split the 2.4GHz and 5GHz channel but 5GHz channel not showing up on my wifi automatic detection.

and yes, my devices are capable of 5GHz. 

I have tried the smart channel and specify manual channel.

Why is it not showing?

As you don't have a SH2 which hub do you have

OK, I'll be that guy, is it turned on? You will have separate "switches" for each band now.

Both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels are in the on state using smart channel selection.
I have also tried changing to channel 40 for 5GHz but it still never showed up.
Hub has been rebooted etc etc

Might be worth turning off, saving & then turning on again. Did you accept the suggested SSID for the 5GHz or create your own? If the latter did you use any unusual characters?

Only other thing would be a factory reset & if still no show, it's likely faulty.

Tried suggested SSID and also tried my own when that did not work but only added a G to the end.

I'll try turning off saving and then turning on again and if I can be bothered I will do a factory reset.
