The TP link router has been removed I am afraid and is in the cupboard 😉
If you live in Newcasltle , hardly likely I know....well then I owe you a pint 😉
I would have tried increasing the MTU setting on the TP Link to 1492, if it is set too low.
It would be interesting to see if changing the value, has any effect on the music .
There are some network experts on this forum, who may be able to give you more info on this setting, and suggest a value which better matches the BT network.
To further add to the debate , My portable player streams Tidal In same format with no issues at all, so yes starting to think its a conflict with the Melco and BT router
But it also does it on the TP Link router.
Yeah the Melco and BT broadband then....as like I say it worked with Sky with no issues.
I am determined to et this sorted once and for all
You can set the MTU on the TP Link to 1492, which is close to the 1500 value that Sky recommend, and may cure the problem, as the default on the TP Link is 1480.
That small change may prevent the data being discarded, and loss of your two seconds of music.
Reluctant but guess I have alreday set it up so would just be plugging it in now. the problem for me is I have no idea what other problems I may be encouraging
How do i set the MTU?
Would this then be permamnent ?
Daft question why dont i just do that for the BT Smart hub?
Not sure you can alter the MTU on the smart hub, as I do not have one.
I can take a few screenshots of how to get to the MTU settings on the TP Link, and I will post the link to the pages, on this thread when I have done it.
I am on ADSL, but the WAN pages should be similar.
Thank you Kieth I will try this over the weekend sometime
You have tried and tried to help me so thanks for all the efforts
