Re: Tidal drop outs and not finishing tracks

It was a sky hub

Thanks.

I think at this stage we need to prove whether it is the home hub causing the stream breaks, by looking at the event log.

I do know that people have reported compatibility issues with the Smart Hub.

The only way to prove if that is the case, would be to use a different router, there are plenty of options, prices starting at £30 locally, and can be returned if they do not help.

Your actual Internet connection would come from the same cabinet and use the same line, so I don`t think its a line issue.

Re: Tidal drop outs and not finishing tracks

Yeah that makes sense.

The reason I assumed it was since my switch to BT is Tidal worked ok with Sky. it was the very same day that I got BT that the tidal issues started.....just too much of a coincidence for me.

Again thanks for the help

I think we just need to identify whether it is the home hub, as everything is pointing to it at the moment.

I do not use a home hub anymore.

I assume your download and upload speed is fine, using the BT Speed tester?

Then it may just be an issue with the home hub. If it continues, then try a different router, its very easy to do, and not expensive. I have all of the details.

Re: Tidal drop outs and not finishing tracks

Three weeks later and I am still having the same issues.

BT chat helpline was not helpful at all...so I have raised a complaint.

My line is fine as it has all been checked. Other than buying a new router i dont know what to do, but surely after signing up for an 18 month conttract BT supply me with a suitable router? Not so sure I should be put to additional expense

I will cancel and go back to Sky if they camt help..........I assume I can get out of the contract becasue of these issues

@womaz

You could try a diiferent router for £30, and then return it if it does not fix the problem. You have nothing to lose.

Re: Tidal drop outs and not finishing tracks

I may have to do this if BT dont help me. Its just not sure it will solve it and returning stuff is a bit of hassle.

I would pay £200 for a really good router if I knew it would solve the issue.

I assume all routers can be used with a different provider if I move from BT

Re: Tidal drop outs and not finishing tracks

Argos, PC World and Amazon sell that one, and yes you can use it with other providers if need be.

Spending £200 is a bit much just to prove the issue is the home hub, I would just spend the £30 and see if it cures the problem.

Re: Tidal drop outs and not finishing tracks

I am not that good with tech stuff. so I assume I just unplug my router and plug in the new one? No need to do settings etc? Or is it not that simple
