Tp-LINK AX1800 - Can't connect via PPPoE

Go to solution

Because of some technical issues lately we are replacing NETGEAR router with Tp-link AX1800, unfortunately while NETGEAR via quick setup or as normal in settings, when PPPoE details are added we test connection (save or test settings) it just connects and retrieves our static IP, etc.  On other hand TP-LINK in quick setup does not offer to enter these details , and after quick setup in settings when same details are provided and we try "Connect" it just does nothing it thinks its connected , it shows operation was success and tp link logs as far as i remember did not show any messages about can't connect. On welcome screen it shows please plug WAN but i have feeling (as it is plugged in and works on old one) , that message are because router fails to authenticate with BT.

Anyone have similar issues with TP-link?

@slav1ks

You mentioned static IP, are you a BT Business customer, as BT consumer do not use static IP addresses?

The AX1800 is a great router and that is all it is.

You also need a modem to be able to use it.

Then you need to post on the BT Business forum for advice.

This is the Residential Customer Forum.
