Re: UDM Pro and Huawei HG612

Can you post the hub stats please, it seems very likely you have a G.Fast connection.

Re: UDM Pro and Huawei HG612

@licquorice

That would certainly explain the increase in speeds seen.

@waring192

You haven't upgraded your broadband have you?

Re: UDM Pro and Huawei HG612

Are these what you are after?:

Connection status
Connection status:
Connected
Downstream:
63.54 Mbps
Upstream:
9.08 Mbps
Connection information
Connection time:
0 Days, 3 Hours 9 Mins 48 Secs
Data usage:
93 MB Uploaded / 2 GB Downloaded
Broadband username:
bthomehub@btbroadband.com
Password:
Not Configured
TCP/IP information
Broadband IP address:
165.120.237.12
Default gateway:
172.16.18.97
Primary DNS:
81.139.57.100
Secondary DNS:
81.139.56.100

I tried to use the Huawei modem again with the following settings in the UniFI Bluetooth App. I have ordered a USB-C to Ethernet cable to I can try setting it up in the web interface hopefully. but for now the following settings I put in the bluetooth app for PPPoE:
Interface: WAN
Username: bthomehub@btbroadband.com
Password: bt
VLAN: Off
DNS Server 1: 1.1.1.1
DNS Server 2: 8.8.8.8
There was a list of other ways of connecting like static ip etc but as far as I know it’s simply PPoE and connecting a BT compatible modem like the HG612 for it to work like it did before I factory reset the Dream Machine Pro due to forgetting the password. The HG612 used to work fine with my Security Gateway Pro and Cloud Key + so I have no idea why its suddenly stopped connecting?
About a month ago BT upped the speed for me, I think it going from the lowest fibre to the highest (but not FTP).
So right now Im using the Homehub with all Home Automation stuff (Control4 et) is not connected as my switches in the rack and wifi are not working.

Sorry its a messy post but my head is hurting from all this!

Re: UDM Pro and Huawei HG612

@TimCurtis

Yes I have about 2 months ago using the HG612. Nothing happened really, just the speed increased while I was using the HG612 and UniFi gear

Re: UDM Pro and Huawei HG612

Ok, you are not on G.Fast so I can see no reason why your setup doesn't work with the HG612. All the settings seem correct. I'm out of ideas I'm afraid.

Re: UDM Pro and Huawei HG612

@licquorice @When I first plugged the home/smart hub in after the HG612 didn’t work after the reset it took a long time for it to connect? I’m taking 4/5 min to connect. Now it’s almost instant but it wasn’t at first.

Re: UDM Pro and Huawei HG612

Just a quick question. Instead of doing it via my iPhone and Bluetooth, can you connect a PC/MacBook to the UDM Pro LAN port to set it up? If it doesn’t save the settings while doing it via iPhone and App will it have an IP of 192.168.1.1? Just on the mini screen it says something like no IP address or modem detected, please reset your modem. I don’t think it saves the PPPoE when doing it from the iPhone app?

Re: UDM Pro and Huawei HG612

@waring192

The connection delay when first re-connecting the hub was probably it doing a firmware update which is normal.

Re: UDM Pro and Huawei HG612

I’ve a UDM and HG612. The app with Bluetooth has never worked setting it up and it’s a known issue that PPPoE has issues with their stuff.

you have to manually set it up wired.

Did you at any stage back it up?

Did you not go through the forgot password to regain control?
