I also had Google Support in California working on this problem for most of Friday afternoon. They were amazing, I logged a callback and in less than 1 minute, Chris phoned me on my mobile from the USA! Chris checked everything on my Google tablet and account and could not find anything wrong.
So in summary, my position is as follows:
1. Problem affects all Android devices in the house, each has a diffrenent Google account and Android versions.
2. The Android devices can acces and update from the Play Store if using mobile data ratherr than WiFi.
3. Changed my BT HH6 for a TP-Link router and the problem persists - not a BT router specific issue.
This would lend me to believe the root cause it at BT's end somewhere.
I will post anything I hear from BT and/or Google. I am sure we will get this resolved.
Have a good weekend.
Thanks to those of you who've sent us over your details.
I've passed this off for investigation. We'll post the outcome on this thread as opposed to coming back to you individually.
Hi Robbie & Noel,
Some additional information for you. We visited TESCO Cafe this morning and used their WiFi. We took my Nexus 7 and my daughters Android phone to test. The two devices are using different versions of Android and Google accounts. Both accessed the Google Play Store and updated successfully via TESCO WiFi.
The problem only seems to exist when accessing the Play Store from home via my BT broadband.
Hope this helps.
I also confirm the same . When I tether my o2 data to my taboet the tablet can also update fine. As soon as I'm back on my bt wifi - fail
Right now YouTube is failig to update and hukd (hot UK deals) app is failing to install. I can get on my dad's sky wifi at his place and update / install these fine.
Then my dad comes to my bt wifi and cant install / update either, so something is wrong with bt for sure where sky has no issues
We've had an update from our network tech guys confirming this should be sorted. Can you check this at your side and let me know if there has been any change?
Nope nothing has changed unfortunately…
No change here either, thanks for looking into this.
(Tried rebooting phone/router too).
